Varsity Brawlers Prevail in Ejection-Laced Derby Dolls Season Opener

Another sellout crowd packed the Doll Factory for the opening bout of the LA Derby Dolls 2010 season and even though several skaters got booted from the rink, the crowd stayed on its feet throughout the 60-minute, banked-track battle.

The Varsity Brawlers opened its second season with a dominating defeat of the Sirens. It was all Brawlers early, jumping out to a quick 28-14 lead. The Sirens closed the gap in the 3rd quarter but couldn't seem to keep their composure. Four Sirens - Killo Kitty, Amber Alert!, and lead jammers V. Lee and P.I.T.A. - were ejected for excessive penalties.

Cris Affliction and Ghetto Stiletto also had the honor of getting tossed late in the game for the Varsity Brawlers but the VB's top jammers kept racking up points. So much scoring, in fact, that the double-figured scoreboard had to be reset. Final score - Varsity Brawlers: 129, Sirens: 100.

Here's the line for those of you keeping score at home:

Victory Brawlers: 129
Sirens: 100
