Dax Shepherd Turns Down 'Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity' Nod On Account Of Eating Chicken
Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell already made headlines this week when Bell proposed after DOMA was struck down, and now, they're in the news again: Shepherd took to Twitter to let the world know that he has to turn down the high honor of being named one of PETA's Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrities, because—full disclosure—he eats chicken:
I'm really flattered to be named "Sexiest Vegetarian" with @IMKristenBell, but sadly I can't accept in good conscience because I eat chicken

Shepherd went on to note that he has tried being vegan in the past, but that it just doesn't quite work for him:
I was vegan for a year, but that ended 6 months ago. I aspire to be more like @IMKristenBell , but I'm not there yet.

Bell was nominated alongside Shepherd for the coveted title, and she actually won. She's quoted on PETA's website as saying:
"I had a hard time disassociating the animals I cuddled with—dogs and cats, for example—from the animals on my plate, and I never really cared for the taste of meat. I always loved my Brussels sprouts!"
Bell is joined on the illustrious list by Alyssa Milano, Anne Hathaway and Russell Brand.
