A Night In the Life of Sasha Grey
LAist has been fortunate to run into pornstar and mainstream crossover artist Sasha Grey (MySpace) already a few times this year -- at AVN's Adult Entertainment Expo and Adult Movie Awards as well as Vivid-Alt's Live In My Secrets release party.
In that time, Grey responded to recent criticism in editorials published by UCSB's Daily Nexus newspaper, the news of which even made the New York Post's Page Six column. Her musical project, ATelecine (MySpace), released its aVigillant Carpark EP, which sold out of its initial run of 300 copies. Her episode of James Gunn's PG Porn, titled "Roadside Ass-sistance", reached the one million hit milestone. And her mainstream movie The Girlfriend Experience, directed by Steven Soderbergh, debuted at the Sundance Film Festival.
So earlier this month, we checked back in with Grey two days before her 21st birthday. Thursday, March 12th was an extremely busy day, which began with a Tony Ward photoshoot -- described as one "...that I'm extremely excited about, and will divulge more when I can!" -- and concluded with two parties in West Hollywood.
For BlackBook's Red Hot Hollywood Party at the Sunset Marquis, Grey not only served as co-host with Mischa Barton -- both of whom are in separate pictorials in the current issue -- but she also provided the playlist for the evening. Meanwhile, serving as the party's official photographer was Rony Alwin from Rony's Photobooth.
Afterwards, Grey ventured to The Roxy (MySpace) for Burning Angel's Girls Girls Girls II release party. In attendance were Joanna Angel (MySpace) and boyfriend James Deen, stars Regan Reese, Tera Patrick and husband Evan Seinfeld, Mary Carey, Dana DeArmond (MySpace), Roxy DeVille and fiancee Striker, Faye Reagan (MySpace) and boyfriend Dane Cross (MySpace), Angelina Armani (MySpace) with boyfriend Alexander "Monstar" Raymond (MySpace), Ann Marie Rios, Mandy Morbid (MySpace) with boyfriend Zak Sabbath (MySpace), Pixie Pearl, and Coco Velvett, and AVN's Dan Miller, Peter Warren, and photographer Gia Jordan (MySpace).
