Don't Forget to Vote Today, Council District 2 Residents

Today's the big day, the long-awaited one, a sigh of relief as one the nastiest, dirtiest , big money races comes to an end. It's the special runoff election for Council District 2 (CD2), which stretches from Sherman Oaks to the Northeast Valley in the San Fernando Valley. Two candidates, Assemblyman Paul Krekorian and former film industry executive Chris Essel, face off. "The location of your polling place can be found on the back cover of your Official Sample Ballot," explains L.A. City Clerk June Lagmay. "Polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. You may vote in person at your designated polling place or drop off your completed Vote-By-Mail ballot at your nearest polling place."
You can also find your polling place by going to http://cityclerk.lacity.org/election/, then clicking on "Polling Place and Sample Ballot Look Up" or calling the City Clerk's Election Division at (213) 978-0444 or toll-free at (888) 873-1000.
The San Fernando Valley is home to seven Los Angeles city council districts. Five of them, including CD2, are fully within the Valley--two of them jump over the hill.
