Domino's Robber Leaves Trail of Pizza Sauce
Here's a tip, that we all should have learned from a certain fairy tale years ago: if you leave a trail of food, people will be able to follow it and find you. This might come in handy if you're two children lost in the woods, but maybe not so much if you're someone who's trying to rob a Domino's. Christopher Johnson, 19, found this out the hard way. CBS reports that Johnson broke into a Domino's Pizza in Ojai early this morning and attempted to open the cash register. When that failed, he ransacked the store, stealing food and pizzas and making his way back home.
In the course of the burglary, Johnson spilled pizza sauce on himself, and while heading home carrying the stolen food, he left a trail of sauce and "other pizza-making ingredients," according to CBS.
Investigators were able to identify Jackson from looking at the video (...Ojai is a small town...?) and then followed the trail to make the arrest:
[the] trail of pizza-making ingredients...later let [sic] officials to his nearby residence. Officials later arrested him in his bed.
