We think LA should have its own football team -- in fact, it's the perfect added-value for whomever is lucky enough to win the bid on the LA Times. In the meantime, we will be watching -- and we'll give credit where credit's due. Peyton Manning, it's amazing how you can be in all those commercials AND burn the Pats at the same time, but, can you do the shuffle?

BONUS vid: Samurai Mike busted an updated 2k7 version of the shuffle with staff at the Houston Chronicle. The blog post behind it.

Super Bowl XLI: Feb 4., 5 p.m. in Miami -- Chicago Bears v. Indianapolis Colts

There's still time for you to prepare your commercial... (K-Fed already did, although we apparently won't be hearing from Brit).

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Our only loyalty is to our audiences and our mission: to inform, engage, and strengthen our community.

Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
