You value independent local news, so become a sustainer today to power our newsroom.

Fans of cupcakes, rejoice! Next Sunday, you can bask in the glory of your favorite baked goodies as many of Los Angeles' top cupcake-makers gather at the Nesquik Cupcake Challenge. The folks at Drink:Eat:Play have gathered the folks from places like SusieCakes, Kiss My Bundt, Delilah Bakery, the Oinskter, Blue Cupcake, Sugar Jones, and many, many more, each of whom will have mini versions of their signature treats for you to eat.

A lot of the participating bakeries were at 2008's Challenge, too, and took home top honors...That's right, if you're chowing on the cupcakes you need to keep track of what you're tasting, because you'll be helping to determine who is the best of the best--it is a challenge, after all! Who will win the Cupcake Challenge of 2009? See you there...and we'll find out!

Drink:Eat:Play's Nesquik Cupcake Challenge
Sunday March 29th, 1-4 p.m. @Renaissance Hollywood Hotel
Tickets: $40 (online)

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
