Woman's Burning Body Found in South L.A. Street
Authorities in South Los Angeles are working to determine how the body of woman came to be set ablaze and left to burn in the street.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a call reporting the burning body late Monday night at 319 W. 94th St., near Broadway, according to City News Service.
"We got information that perhaps a female was lit on fire or lit herself on fire. Obviously, it's preliminary. We don't know exactly what happened out here," said Capt. Gerald Woodyard with the Los Angeles Police Department, according to ABC7.
Though the body was determined to be female, her identity has yet to be established, said Los Angeles County coroner's Investigator Selena Barrows.
