Soon after the search resumed Wednesday morning for more remains belonging to the victim of an apparent homicide whose head was found in a bag in the Hollywood Hills Tuesday afternoon, authorities report they have found one other body part so far.Los Angeles Police Department Officer Cleon Joseph indicated midday today searchers with cadaver dogs have located a "severed hand" in the same general vicinity as where the head was, according to City News Service.

It has not been determined yet if the hand belongs to the victim whose head was left in the hilly terrain.

Currently, the circumstances surrounding the victim's death, or his identity, remain unknown.

The LAPD say that, despite previously published reports, the victim's ethnicity has not been confirmed. Detectives believe the man was killed elsewhere, and his head was dumped at the location, said Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera, according to CNS. The head had not been at the location where it was discovered for long, say police. An examination of the head is being conducted today by the coroner's office.
