A patient being treated in downtown Los Angeles stabbed the firefighter who came to his aid, according to ABC7. The suspect then fled, entering a building and prompting police to shut down the area around the 600 block of Main Street (map). Condition of the firefighter was not immediately known (Update: stable condition). The firefighter was responding to a 10:50 a.m. medical call. The man apparently ran into the Cecil Hotel.
