A night of drinking inside a Van Nuys apartment turned deadly when one of the men was fatally shot in the head, and people at the party tried to hide his body.

Two men, Tito Diaz, 43, and William Jimenez, 25, were taken into custody following the incident, reports City News Service.

Diaz and the victim were reportedly passing a loaded handgun back and forth during the evening, and the gun went off. The victim was struck in the head and died. Investigators are not certain if the gunfire was accidental or deliberate.

Authorities say Diaz and Jimenez, possibly with the help of others, then tried to dispose of the victim's body in the dumpster.
