Coroner Releases Causes of Death for Both Brittany Murphy & Casey Johnson
The causes of death were diabetic ketoacidosis for Johnson & Johnson heiress Casey Johnson and pneumonia for actor Brittany Murphy, according to reports released by the Los Angeles County Coroner this morning. While Johnson's death, which occurred on January 5th, was listed as natural, Murphy's was a little more involved.
Listed as an "accident," Murphy's death occurred as a result of "drug intake." Conditions adding to her death were an "iron deficiency anemia" and "multiple drug intoxication." She died on December 21st at the age of 32. Coroner Ed Winters visited Murphy's home yesterday, reportedly because he was "not satisfied that the toxicology report by itself will tell the whole story" of her death, according to TMZ.
For both women, it is anticipated that the autopsy report will be available within the next two weeks.
