A high pressure is building across Southern California, bringing summer like heat to the valley today.
The National Weather Service says communities in western San Fernando Valley could reach record levels in the mid 90s. Elsewhere in the valley, you could see temperatures in the upper 80s to lower 90s, which is between 10 and 15 degrees above normal for the area.
Coastal areas will also be warmer, with a chance of patchy of dense fog in the morning along our beaches, which will burn off throughout the day.
It'll be mostly sunny for downtown Los Angeles, with highs in the low 80s.
Thursday is when the high pressure will peak for most areas before temperatures start to tick back down. An onshore flow is also on its way for the weekend, bringing back cooler temperatures into next week.
