Today's highs will be in the 60s for the coasts, low 70s for the inland coast and upper 70s for the valleys, up to 79 degrees for the Inland Empire.
Forecasters warn beachgoers to be careful out in the water — strong rip currents and breaking waves up to 6 feet will pound the Malibu coast until Wednesday evening. If you are ever caught in a strong rip current, check out this guide from the National Weather Service.

Temperatures have climbed in the deserts since Monday — expect a high of 85 degrees in the high desert, up to 95 degrees for Coachella Valley.
Tonight's lows will drop to the 50s.
