Want to improve your local park? LA city parks officials want to hear from you
L.A. city parks officials are asking Angelenos to fill out the Parks Assessment Survey by mid-April.

The city of Los Angeles wants to hear from you about how it can improve your local park.
About the survey: The Department of Recreation and Parks is rolling out their Parks Needs Assessment. It’s a survey for residents to share feedback on the challenges, needs and any future ideas for neighborhood parks.
Why it matters: The survey will also help guide parks officials on how to spread funding for park infrastructure and amenities over the hundreds of parks, and evaluate which ones will be prioritized.

The backstory: The department currently oversees nearly 16,000 acres of public parkland and amenities in L.A., including 559 park sites and 92 miles of trails. The survey is long overdue — the last one conducted in 2009. L.A. County last conducted a similar survey in 2016.
