High bacteria levels prompt warning against going in water at 7 LA County beaches

Southern California may be going through a mini heat wave, but before seeking relief at the beach, beware.
L.A. County public health officials are urging residents to avoid going in the water at seven local beaches after bacteria levels were found to exceed safe levels under state standards.
Which beaches are under bacteria warnings?
- Solstice Creek at Dan Blocker County Beach in Malibu (100 yards up and down the coast from the creek).
- Walnut Creek at Paradise Cove in Malibu (100 yards up and down the coast from the creek).
- Ramirez Creek at Paradise Cove in Malibu (100 yards up and down the coast from the pier).
- The Bel Air Bay Club at Will Rogers State Beach in Pacific Palisades (100 yards up and down the coast from the club border fence).
- Mothers Beach in Marina Del Rey (entire swim area).
- Castlerock Storm Drain at Topanga County Beach in Malibu (100 yards up and down the coast from the storm drain).
- Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica (100 yards up and down the coast from the pier).

Where has a warning been lifted?
A previous warning for Avalon Beach on Santa Catalina Island (50 feet west of the pier) was lifted after testing found bacteria to be back to safe levels.
