Evacuation Centers, Road Closures Announced for Fire in Ventura County

Evacuation enters have already been established as the fast-moving Guiberson Fire burns through brush in eastern Ventura County between Moorpark and Fillmore.
"Affected person can go to the Goebal Senior Center at 1385 Janss Road in Thousand Oaks for shelter," according to a Ventura County Sheriff's Department advisory. "Affected persons with large animals can call the Ventura County Animal Shelter at 805-388-4341 to arrange for a trailer to take affected animals to the Ventura County Fairgrounds. The Ventura County Fairgrounds has been designated as the primary shelter for large animals."
As of 1:08 p.m., the following roads were closed:
- HWY 23 at Broadway Road
- HWY 23 at Rivers Road
- Shekell Cyn @ Broadway Road
- HWY 23 at Bardsdale Road
- HWY 23 at Elkins Ranch
- HWY 23 at Shekell Cyn
- Broadway Road at Happy Camp Road
