A brush fire that broke out Tuesday afternoon in Burbank grew to 8 acres in just over an hour, prompting evacuation orders. But firefighters had stopped the blaze's progress, and evacuation orders were lifted before 6 p.m., according to the city of Burbank.

It's unclear how what's being dubbed the Bethany Fire started.

The city reported that firefighters would monitor the fire and clean up throughout the night.

No damage was reported.

Warm weather has made fine fuels like grasses more receptive to burning. However, larger vegetation like shrubs and trees are still holding on to a bit of moisture heading into our hottest months.
