Charles Manson Is Reportedly Suffering From Gastrointestinal Bleeding

Charles Manson is currently hospitalized in Bakersfield, and is suffering from "gastrointestinal bleeding involving his colon," reports the L.A. Times.According to the Times report, Manson is being closely guarded and only medical personnel are allowed to interact with him.

Manson is 82 years old and is serving a life sentence for his role in the murders of actress Sharon Tate and six other people in 1969. He has been in prison since 1971 and denied parole 12 times.

Terry Thornton, a spokeswoman for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, could not confirm the condition of Manson's health, citing federal and state privacy laws, but did say that Manson was still alive.
