Police are looking into the car-to-car shooting of a man in his 40s in Whittier that happened early this morning, reports KTLA.

The victim was found at about 6:00 a.m. after an accident was called in near Workman Mill Road and Beverly Boulevard. He had a bullet lodged in the back of his head that went through the seat rest and stopped in his skull.

He was able to talk to officers when they arrived.

The shooter got away, and officials believe that the incident was spurred on by a bad case of road rage.
