J. Paul Getty's Grandson Found Dead In Hollywood Hills Home
The grandson of oil tycoon J. Paul Getty was found dead today in his Hollywood Hills home.
LAPD went to 48-year-old Andrew Getty's villa located on the 2900 block of Montcalm Ave. around 2 p.m. after receiving a 9-1-1 call from Getty's ex-girlfriend about a cardiac arrest, according to TMZ. So far, TMZ is the only outlet to report that paramedics found Getty bleeding and that he "suffered a traumatic injury to the rectal area." There was an erroneous report earlier that Getty had been shot in the face.
Police said that they are investigating this incident under "suspicious circumstances." LAPD confirmed with NBC Los Angeles that there is a murder investigation taking place at Getty's home.
The ex-girlfriend was reportedly detained by police as a possible witness or suspect. Sources told TMZ that the couple has had some run-ins with police. Authorities had reportedly gone to Getty's home over 30 times, mostly for domestic disturbance calls, and had seen the couple under the influence of drugs. Getty also filed a restraining order against his ex-girlfriend, TMZ reported.
Getty is one of Gordon P. Getty's four sons, and is part of the Getty trust, according to the L.A. Times.
