A pregnant woman was injured and a suspected drunk driver is in custody after a dangerous police chase this morning, reports L.A. Now. The driver, a man whose name has not been released, was initially pulled over for a traffic stop just after 3:00 a.m. today. He didn't stop, instead leading police on a brief chase that ended when he slammed into several cars near 58th Street and Vermont Avenue in South Los Angeles, and then escaped on foot.

The female passenger is estimated to be about six months pregnant, notes KTLA. The suspect left her in the car where she was bleeding from the head when he fled the scene. She was reportedly not injured badly, and was treated at a local hospital. Their relationship isn't known.
