71-Year-Old Man Charged With Sexually Assaulting Two 10-Year-Olds
A 71-year-old man has been charged in the sexual assault of not one but two 10-year-old girls in Orange County.
Donald Roy Shipley of Fountain Valley is accused of raping the first girl in 2008 when she came to his home to visit a younger relative of his. Shipley allegedly committed lewd acts against the other girl around 2009, according to the Los Angeles Times.
Police began investigating Shipley on suspicion of having child pornography last year. They found dozens of pornographic pictures of young girls aged 10 until 13, many of them taken in his own home. He was arrested Wednesday and was being held in lieu of $1 million bail.
If convicted on everything he's being charged with, Shipley could face a maximum sentence of 40 years and eight months to life in prison, according to the Orange County Register.
