23-Year-Old Shakey's Manager Shot to Death at ATM

Carrie Thomas, the manager of a Shakey's in Moreno Valley, was found dead in her car after being shot in an apparent robbery near an ATM, reports the Press-Enterprise. Thomas, 23, had worked at the Shakey's for the past five or six years, according to the restaurant's owner, Harold Veum.
Police found Thomas' car crashed into a pole in the parking lot of a Visterra Credit Union, after responding to a call about a traffic collision. Inside, they found Thomas with injuries from the crash and a gunshot wound. She died the following morning at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.
No suspects have been identified, and by all accounts the killing was arbitrary.
