An Orange County man has been arrested on suspicion of shooting and killing his 20-year-old girlfriend, reports CBS News.

20-year-old Samuel Montes was arrested Saturday after authorities learned that he had been at the scene of Nicole Gutierrez's death but then fled. He was taken into custody on suspicion of Gutierrez' murder and is being held on $1 million bail.

Gutierrez was found in a home in Anaheim with gunshot wounds, after receiving reports of shots being fired. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
