2-Year-Old Girl Killed During High-Speed Police Chase

A man eluding police on a high speed chase struck a car carrying a young mom and her 2- year-old daughter and fatally injured the child, reports City News Service.
The crash happened at about 4:55 on Sierra Highway in Lancaster. The suspect was being pursued by police after running a red light. He was headed westbound on Avenue I when the hit the car carrying the mother and child, and had reportedly hit speeds of up to 100 miles per hour.
All three people involved in the crash were taken to the hospital, where the young girl later died. Both the mother and the suspect are listed in serious condition.
The suspect was arrested today on charges of vehicular manslaughter.
