16-Year-Old Boy Dies After Boxing in Burbank Gym [UPDATED]

A teenage boy died in a Burbank hospital yesterday following what was described as a light round of boxing at a nearby gym, reports City News Service.
The boy, whose name hasn't been released, was brought to Providence St. Joseph Medical Center at about 6:45 p.m., complaining of pain. He suddenly went unconscious, and doctors weren't able to revive him. He died at about 7:45 p.m.
He had been working out at Pullman's Gym at 4320 W. Magnolia Boulevard. Notification of family members is pending, and an investigation is being conducted by the coroner's office.
UPDATE 11:20 a.m.: The boy has been identified as Raul Alvarez Jr. of North Hollywood. An earlier version of this post mistakenly said that he was visiting from out of town.
