An 11-year-old boy stabbed to death on Monday has been identified, reports City News Service.

Jai Shaun Lewis was allegedly attacked by his 26-year-old stepfather in an apartment in MacArthur Park. Neighbors heard the boy's mother screaming, and police were called to the scene at about 9 a.m.

During the struggle, the stepfather was injured as well and was taken to the hospital to be treated. His name hasn't been released.

It's not clear what caused the stepfather to attack the boy.
