John Lewis Was At Comic-Con? Yup. And He Didn't Need A Cape

Maybe the last place you'd have expected to find civil rights icon and Congressman John Lewis was Comic-Con — the annual pop culture extravaganza in San Diego.
But there he was in 2016, as he debuted the final part of his graphic novel trilogy, "March," which told the story of the Civil Rights Movement and his own story as well.
KPCC's John Horn was there for The Frame and he interviewed Lewis and his collaborators, who would go on to win a National Book Award for their work.
Lewis died Friday at the age of 80 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
