NOVEMBER 17

The 22nd annual "Beaujolais & Beyond Wine & Food Festival" proposes a toast tonight and raises its glass to honor the arrival of the 2005 Beaujolais Nouveau in Los Angeles. The even is put on by the French-American Chamber of Commerce of Los Angeles and will be held at the Millennnium Biltmore Hotel from 6:30 -10 PM. Wine connoiseeeurs will gather to taste the first crop of Beaujolais, along with other products from French and American vineyards. This year, Frank Leboeuf, the winner of the 1998 Soccer World Cup and 2000 European Cup will be the guest of honor. There will also be a silent auction. Cost is $45 for members of Chamber of Commerce, and $55 for non-members.

NOVEMBER 18-19

This weekend, Village Imports in North Hollywood opens up their doors to the general public in order to offer over 2,500 unique items at wholesale prices such as wines and sparkling waters, specialty meats and cheeses and Valrhona chocolate. The company is an importer and wholesale distributor of specialty foods and beverages, and extends their wares for sale to those outside the industry only a few times a year. village Importers urges patrons to come with an appetite because tables of samples will be offered throughout. Hmm, early holiday shopping, anyone? The sale is from 2-6 PM on Friday and 8 AM to 3 PM on Saturday.
