It's a music-dominated evening tonight in LA with a free performance from the Backbeat cast; music residencies with Gliss and A House for Lions; It's a School Night Lineup at Bardot; a talk with music legends Judy Collins and Stephen Stills; and a solo dance by Jeremy Wade. Read on for all the details.
Fountain is a solo dance work from Jeremy Wade that’s been evolving since 2010. He presents the piece tonight at 9 pm at Foxfairy Studios (upstairs) . Wade turns the work into a group experience as he assumes the “role of preacher, shaman, and fool, by offering himself as a medium to receive and transform the energy of the theater space taking the audience on an emotional and alchemical journey.” Tickets: $10 advance/$20 at the door. Free onsite parking.
Amoeba welcomes the cast from Backbeat—playing currently at the Ahmanson— tonight at 7 pm. It’s the story of the Beatles in the early days before the Fab Four (they had five members). The cast will perform a few songs and sign copies of the original cast recording.
Tonight at 7:30 pm, Writers Bloc presents folk legend Judy Collins who’ll be in conversation with another legend Stephen Stills at the Saban Theater. They’ll talk about her life in music with some of the most influential artists and musicians. Tickets, $25.
