Make Reservations to Check Out Moby's Hotel

The W Hotel chain's "Adventures in Wonderland" is an ongoing series of music, films, and talks, and the next guest to sign the register locally is music's Moby, whose aptly titled album, Hotel, was released last week. He will be giving an intimate show followed by a Q & A from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Monday April 4th at the W Hotel in Westwood. Admission is free, but, of course, since we're talking hotels here, reservations are required.

Moby, who has become somewhat synonymous with veganism, left-of-centerness, and activism, is actually the first to toot the horn of this very kind of corporate multi-tiered tie-in. In fact, according to this recent Billboard.com article, he feels this sort of cross-promotion is the only way he was able to be heard in the early stages of his career. We know he embraces this market saturation because we remember it wasn't long after his breakthrough album Play was released that almost all the songs were sold for use in advertising. It wouldn't be surprising in the least to see Hotel play out much the same way.

Regardless, Moby's sales are high and we bet the W will be booked to capacity for the event. Fans can also try to beat the crowds Friday April 1st at the Barnes and Noble at the Grove (of course it's at the Grove!) where Moby is doing a free in-store appearance to promote his book, Teany Book, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

(We promise, no more hotel puns.)
