PHOTOGRAPHING FRANKLIN CAYON
Have camera, will travel? Today from 3-5 p.m. the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy with the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority are sponsoring a photography outing in Franklin Canyon. Capture the moment with an experienced photographer who will guide you to finding unique views and photo opportunities in nature. The outing is free, but reservations required! [Call (310) 858-7272 ext. 131] Previously on LAist: Workout Wednesday: Franklin CanyonWOOFSTOCK!
From 11a.m. to 4p.m., the City of Beverly Hills and a host of pet-loving corporate sponsors welcome all well-behaved dogs on leashes to sniff out the free fun at the City's first Woofstock 90210. It's happening at Roxbury Park (dubbed "Wiggly Field" today) and admission is absolutely free. If you think your dog should be famous, you might want to take him or her down to Bev Hills for this event, because producers from Cesar Milan's hit TV show "Dog Whisperer" and animal talent agency Le PAWS will be on hand throughout the day scouting for new talent.

DO A JIG, FINK A LUCKY CLOVER
Celebrate St. Patty's day at the Orange County Market Place in Costa Mesa from 9-4 today. Irish jigs and reels, Celtic ballads and songs and a Leprechaun will be part of the colorful salute to Ireland during the Third Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. See live local dancers, eat all sorts of (non-Irish, it seems) food, see stiltwalkers and a Leprechaun magician, and catch Celtic band Wake the Bard. Admission: $2, Kids 12 and under FREE.

ORGAN RECITAL
Celebrated British organist Dame Gillian Weir will play Walt Disney Concert Hall this evening, at 7:30 PM. The program ranges widely, with works from composers Messiaen, Scarlatti and Franck among others. An Upbeat Live pre-concert event, hosted by Tom Neenan, takes place one hour prior to the concert in BP Hall at Walt Disney Concert Hall, and is free to all ticket holders. Tickets ($24 - $49) are on sale now online. (A limited number of $10 rush tickets for seniors and full time students may be available at the Walt Disney Concert Hall Box Office two hours prior to the performance. Valid identification is required; one ticket per person; cash only.)

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit. Instead, we answer to you and our connected community. We are free to tell the full truth, to hold power to account without fear or favor, and to follow facts wherever they lead. Right now, LAist has lost $1.7M in annual funding due to Congress clawing back money already approved. The support we receive from readers like you will determine how fully our newsroom can continue informing, serving, and strengthening Southern California.
