March may be over, but L.A.’s parking madness isn’t going away anytime soon.
After frustrated Angelenos cast nearly a quarter million votes over the past month, Koreatown was crowned as having the city’s worst parking on Wednesday, followed by the Hollywood Bowl.
The competition was run on Instagram by the account Americana At Brand Memes. Its anonymous account holder, Mr. Glen Dale, celebrated the top two in a fitting fashion — with curated election memes.
“It's a democratic process, and I think people were upset that their personal hated parking lot didn't make it further,” Mr. Glen Dale told LAist. “ But I think for the most part … it went over pretty smoothly.”
The account prepared special election-themed memes for the top two.

About the finalists
Notably, Koreatown wasn’t even included in the original brackets. It’s not technically a parking lot or garage, and Mr. Glen Dale worried it would buzz through the rest of the competition.
And well, he was right.
It was added to the competition after multiple “Wild Card” submissions and comments from followers, and K-Town dominated each match up, earning about 70% of the votes most of the time.
“It like basically destroyed everything until the end,” Mr. Glen Dale said, adding that K-Town — L.A.’s most dense neighborhood — won the top spot by less than a thousand votes. “ These were the two right ones that should have gone head to head, I think.”
The Hollywood Bowl, on the other hand, earned high praise from the meme master himself. Mr. Glen Dale said in a previous interview that the venue was the “gold standard” of balancing public transit access and parking.
“ I didn't think the Bowl would make it as far as it did,” Mr. Glen Dale said. “ Dodger Stadium … to me, is the bigger hassle because it's like, you know, it's so unwieldy.”
But some were still sad to see the Trader Joe’s in Silver Lake languish in the semi-finals. Instagram comments were quick to demand a recount or call for a “#JUSTICEFORSILVERLAKETJS” campaign.
Silver Lake Trader Joe’s landed in third place, followed by Westfield Century City.
