    Paris Games approaches handoff to L.A.

    Tens of thousands of athletes, spectators and journalists are descending on Paris to cover the Olympic Games. Many more will be watching from home.
    Just two more days of competition before the 2024 Paris Olympics come to a close.

    Watch parties are planned through the weekend as the 2024 Paris Olympics come to an end.

    Get ready for LA28: Mayor Karen Bass said she hopes the city sponsored watch parties "inspire Angelenos for what's to come in just four short years."

    The Music Center L.A. and Culver City also have parties planned.

    We're in the last 3 days of the 2024 Paris Olympics! There are several watch parties planned this weekend to catch the final events of the games and get hyped for the 2028 L.A. Olympics.

    The L.A. Department of Recreation and Parks in partnership with PlayLA will host viewing parties where soccer, swimming, volleyball and break dancing events will be live-streamed. Sports activities will also be available for kids to participate in:

    • Friday, Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
    • Saturday, Hansen Dam Aquatic Center, 11798 Foothill Blvd., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    The Music Center in downtown L.A. will be livestreaming the final events all weekend long. Saturday will feature a break dancing demonstration by dancer and historian Zulu Gremlin aka King ZG and legendary break dancer Mr. Wave. And you can show off your own dance moves at an open dance floor.

    • Saturday and Sunday, Jerry Moss Plaza at the Music Center, 35 N. Grand Ave., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

    Culver City is hosting a viewing party for the Olympics closing ceremony in the Town Plaza. Bring a picnic, enjoy free family activities and catch Billie Eilish, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Snoop Dogg perform as we bid farewell to the Olympic athletes.

    • Sunday, The Culver Steps - Town Plaza, 9300 Culver Blvd., beginning at 6 p.m.
