After that, it's back to brutal election anxiety. Just me? Didn’t think so. Fortunately, we’ve got you covered with some more low-stress and even stress-relieving (learn how to forge iron! listen to the Grateful Dead!) things to do this week.
There’s family fun to be had at the Día De Los Muertos celebration happening at the Fowler Museum, where you can make your own sugar skull pinata creations and the light-filled Diwali festival in Chino Hills. Or head to LMU for their annual Yoga Day, featuring free asana classes and tons of introspective speakers. You can also see the well-reviewed August Wilson play The Piano Lesson at A Noise Within or catch an innovative performance art show at REDCAT on Saturday.
A Noise Within's latest production is the August Wilson classic The Piano Lesson, directed by Gregg T. Daniel. The second Wilson play to grace their stage this year, The Piano Lesson is part of Wilson’s Pittsburgh Cycle, which traces African American life in the 1930s through a variety of stories and characters. Broadway World calls Nija Okoro’s portrayal of Berniece a highlight, saying she gives her “a quiet ferocity and sensuality.” The show continues through next weekend.

The symphony is synchronized to drone imagery by photo historian Joseph Sohm and narrated by none other than William Shatner.
