This weekend:
Take the family to Bob Baker’s marionette Nutcracker, there’s a new musical at the Hudson Backstage, and get deals at Small Business Saturday and Museum Store Sunday events.
Highlights:
- Shop till you drop at Small Business Saturday picks like the boozy book fair at Chevalier’s Books on Larchmont and the Makers Hive Market in Anaheim. And check out Museum Store Sunday specials at 28 museums across L.A. County with discounts, special events and gifts with purchase.
- Once the Bob Baker Marionette Theater show is on, it’s officially the holidays in L.A. The troupe first started doing The Nutcracker in 1969 and they’ve preserved and renovated it for 2024. Performances start Nov. 30 and continue through early January at the Sierra Madre Playhouse.
- The Guerilla Girls have been subverting the art world and making in-your-face work for decades. Now they have a show all their own at Beyond the Streets, and it couldn’t be more timely or relevant.
- And after all that turkey and pie, a hike and some fresh air are certainly in order. Sign up for 52 hikes and head to Santa Clarita to get a break from food and family on Friday.
