A man on foot in the carpool lane of the 10 Freeway was hit twice by vehicles Friday night, and has been hospitalized with major injuries.
The unidentified 29-year-old man was walking westbound in the eastbound carpool lane near Marengo Street, and was struck at about 8:30 p.m. by the 61-year-old driver of a 2005 Lexus LX470, according to City News Service.
After being felled by the Lexus, the pedestrian was then struck by an out-of-service Metro bus.
How the man came to be walking on the freeway was not revealed by authorities.
