City Taking "Think Labs" On the Road to Crowd Source Ideas For Improving Mobility in L.A.

Think you have an idea or two to help make L.A. easier to get around? The Los Angeles Departments of City Planning and Transportation sure hopes so: They have announced a series of public workshops called "Think Labs" aimed at letting Angelenos have their say and help "envision a new way of moving around the city and using its streets for mobility and beyond."
These upcoming meetings, which are free and open to the public, are part of what's known as LA/2B, described by the City as "a campaign to update the City’s Mobility Plan and positively shape the future of transportation in LA via crowd-sourced ideas from Angelenos."
If words like "streetscape," "transit modes," and "implementation plan" get you jazzed, you'll definitely want to check out your nearest meeting. The Think Labs will collect ideas and help planners work towards updating street standards that suit all modes of getting around, including by car, bicycle, public transit, and on foot.
The bottom line is, says the City, is that we are wasting time and money and our good health thanks to congestion on our streets, pollution, and lack of viable transportation alternatives. Concludes the City: "LA/2B aims to move the dial on these issues, in a positive direction, through ideas and solutions generated by Angelenos, to push the city into the future and make Los Angeles more livable and enjoyable for all."
