Pint-Sized Chihuahua Chases Bear Up a Tree
If you plan on committing a crime (or, uh, foraging for trash) in Altadena, I suggest you watch out for their fierce Chihuahua population. This summer Paco the Chihuahua chased off robbers at a smoke shop in Altadena and last night another Altadenan Chihuahua managed to chase a hungry bear up a tree.
Altadena resident Alice Wessentold Altadena Patch that a bear was trying to get into her trash can last night. The bear managed to flip it over (maybe in frustration), but he couldn't pry open the secured lid.
Wessen told LAist that her Chihuahua named Husky normally spends his evenings cuddled with owners under the covers (he even has his own adorable snuggie), but last night he managed to hear the bear getting into the trash. Wessen went to scare the bear away from the trash and Husky bolted out the door.
"I just thought 'great, he is an appetizer' and I went outside to bring Husky back in but they were off," Wessen said. "I must say, bears move fast."
Wessen managed to snap a few pictures of the scaredy-bear hiding in the tree.
