Carnival says they are calling off the January 16, 23, 30 and February 6 and 13, 2011 Mexican Riviera cruises because during the course of repairs they have found additional damage that needs addressing. They also say that some of the replacement parts will take longer to be made and sent to the US.
The ship is currently docked in San Diego, where it was dragged to port after the fire, but will travel next month to San Francisco where the repairs will be handled in dry dock. The Splendor normally resides in Long Beach; ABC7 calls the cancellations "bad economic news" for the community. The Splendor is now expected to resume service on February 20th, 2011.
