A Dethroned Miss California? Announcement Planned for Monday

Miss California Carrie Prejean, 21, has been quite the hot topic lately. She was practically an unknown until she said this about gay marriage: "I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Well, that drove the likes of Perez Hilton and TMZ crazy--for their own reasons--and the game was on. Hilton made a big enough deal about it that Prejean blames her not winning the MIss USA title--she ended up as first runner up--on him. Still, she wouldn't change a thing, she said in April: “No, I would not have answered it differently. I said no offense to anybody, but with that question specifically, it was not about being politically correct. For me it was about being biblically correct.”

Then came this week when underage semi-nude photos surfaced around around the internet. They were for potential modeling jobs. Prejean admitted they were hers calling them a mistake in judgement at that time in her life. But the problem comes with the 12-page contract she signed with the Miss California USA pageant. It "contains a clause asking participants whether they have ever been photographed nude or partially nude and if they conducted themselves 'in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standardsm'" according to the New York Daily News. She may have also violated a part of the contract because she appeared in an ad opposed to same-sex marriage.

Now, the Miss California USA pageant will hold a press conference on Monday to announce the fate of Prejean's crown. Tami Farrell, who would take Prejean's title if she is dethroned, will reportedly be there.

bye bye you dumb bitch
ugh she'll probably get a fucking reality show or some bullshit

more like an anchorwoman position on Fox News...

Uh... pretty sure Perez Hilton is a dude.

Between Proposition 8 and Carrie Prejean, California should feel real embarrassed.

I wonder if those pictures are "biblically correct"

Although I don't agree with her opinion (and dislike the fact that she said "in my country") but I think the negative reaction she got was a little over-the-top. Let's burn her at the stake while we're at it. This mob mentality is the same that you criticize the right-wing for...

You won't get anything worthwhile from that approach (see El Coyote incident). If both sides got their heads out of their asses and started talking that would be much more productive, I think.

Awwww, poor Libs. Her sister, who is not gay, is a gay activist, so I think this girl knows some of what she speaks. Now, if this had been Obama saying this, then the lousy half of the nation would proclaim it "Obama is our savior" day, and THEN the hipocricy would rear its Bush hatin', progressive little head! OOOPS! Why,... this IS Obama's position on marriage! Enjoy the next 3 and a half years!

I don't see what Obama has to do with anything here. But rave on milqie.

I don't condemn her far having an opinion. At least she has one.

As far as the nude photos. It doesn't bother me, but they booted Vanessa Williams for it, so I don't see why Carrie Prejean should be exempt from the same rules.

Trump should take Prejean's crown back. She misrepresented herself in her Miss America contract, period.
