Twitter Users Tweet to Help Homeless in Venice

Twitter will uplift Christmas by bringing food to homeless in Venice

For Moira Nordholt, who is known online as the Feel Good Guru, her Christmas day food coma comes around 2 p.m. The presents are open and the everyone has eaten, the day is over, right? Not for her this year.

"The thought occurred to me that I could forfeit that nap and spend an hour on the boardwalk giving away leftovers to hungry people," she wrote on her website. "With all the Twitter power in L.A., I wondered if collectively we might be able to make a small difference in the lives of some of the homeless people out on the beach."

So she's doing just that--using Twitter to organize an ad hoc group of strangers to meet up at Venice Beach with their holiday meal leftovers, new food, clothes or other presents for the homeless who make the boardwalk home. Will people come out? Only Twitter can tell.
