Today's rally and protest over the passage of Proposition 8 has spilled into the streets of West LA and Westwood leading to erratic closures. The 405 north and south exit ramps are closed at Santa Monica Blvd, which remains a parking lot. The protest began at the Mormon temple at 2 p.m. where the crowd swelled into the thousands before taking to the streets. The protesters marched westbound from the Mormon temple to Veteran, then east on Wilshire to Santa Monica where a gathering continues outside the Mormon temple.

What a headline. I would have preferred "Prop 8 march protests human rights nightmare in California."
It's not about traffic.
it is to people trying to go home. the same people who voted no. the same people who understand their anger. the same people who wonder why they can't protest OFF the fucking streets
There's a secondary protest in Weho right now. It took me 3 hours and 40 minutes to get home...instead of my normal 40 minutes.
Time for some comfort food.

LA went slightly in favor of yes. With the population density here, a slight shift no would have shot it down easily. This isn't SF where they shot it down by 75% percent.
Then what the hell was going on east? It took me two hours to get from Hollywood to Echo Park after getting off the parking lot of a freeway to the parking lot that was Sunset Blvd east. Was that all the Madonna concert?
La County went slightly in favor of Yes, not LA City.
Gosh, 4 girls got beat up tonight by Mormon thugs who also were ripping up signs of protestors.
You might THINK that the focus of other citizens MIGHT be about the concern that gays and lesbians aren't being treated as full citizens and that peaceful right to protest makes you a target of physical violence as well.
But I guess LA residents don't really care much now that the voting is over.

The vote clearly shows that the peasants of LA, the blacks and Mexicans, do not want queer marriage.
Yet the elite of LA cannot bring themselves to even notice hat because it is so un-PC.
So what do they do? They blame ... the Mormons!
Look, you live in a Third World city in a Third World state. The majority of whites voted with the Heather-has-two-daddies crowd on Prop. 8, but it just wasn't enough. It won't be "enough" ever again, don't you understand? Whites are a minority. Mormons are a vast minority. As Pog pointed out, the dollars were equally matched and you still lost!
Don't you get it? You are losing the Demographic battle. You abort your babies and never get married. You are replacing yourself with folks like Blacks and Mexicans who think babies and marriage are wonderful!
Yet you act like their thoughts, their culture, their votes don't even matter. Like they are idiots who will vote whatever way the advertisements tell them, and you attack their Evil Mormon Money Masters who pay for the ads.
You cannot even see the little black and brown people around you. To you they are like sheep. You treat them like idiots. They will do what they are told. You cannot attack them for their stupidity and foolishness. You must attack the Evil White Mormon Money Men who are telling them how to vote! What arrogance! What self-righteousness!
And when they vote against you, rather than march through South LA where they live, you go to a vacant Mormon Temple!!
Reading Pog's tongue-in-cheek letter (above) I can just hear the hysterical laughter in the background as he recounts in measured tones (trying to suppress a grin) how ... ummm ... stupid ... your demonstration was.
Le me break it down for you. You members of the white elite don't breed, unlike the people you bring in to California to wipe your bottoms, mow your grass and cook your food.

Good God, bigbill, what a mouthful. I'm not even going to begin going through your rhetoric, because it is obviously baited to create extreme comments.
But I will say that at the No on 8 rally I went to on Wednesday night, there was a strong presence of racial minorities, the largest of which was Hispanic. Whites, Hispanics, African American, Asians, Persians, Pacific Islanders, and I'm sure others were out marching in opposition of prop 8. There are gay people of every color.
BigBill and I are writing a proposition to ban Jewish Marriage and Black Marriage for the 2010 election. And then we're gonna get some sheets and burn crosses on lawns with our 12 kids born out of my marriages to 3 different Mormon 16-year-olds. Who wants in?
BigBill is correct in the regards that Prop 8 was passed because ethnic minorities voted for it. The No on 8 protest was very diverse, but a significant number of Prop 8 proponents decided to voice their opinion with their vote.
I was disappointed with how the protests last night devolved from the night before. CIVIL disobedience is NECESSARY to win the hearts and minds of the people. From the newscasts I watched last night, it appeared as though the protesters instigated violence.
The protests need to take place where the votes are coming from... South LA and East LA. Practice CIVIL disobedience there and show those of other cultures, that the Gay culture isn't the boogeyman they fear. Protesting in West Hollywood and the Westside is just preaching to the choir.
minority voters are definitely not blameless in this result but they are not the root. They just followed the money, influence, and lies of institutions like the mormon church and catholic church, and those lovely knights of columbus.
They became lemming voters, pawns of the same people who oppressed and continue to oppress them
