For a couple weeks, Malo has been serving up $1 tacos on Monday nights with mostly vegan choices including Eggplant & Potato, Grilled & Marinated Vegetable and Soy-Rizo (make sure to ask that the sour cream and cheese condiments are left off). A vegetarian Potato & Chipotle taco (has cheese mixed in) and Grilled Chicken soft taco is also available for the same price. For an extra 50-cents, you're looking at meaty taco truck favorites: carne asada, al pastor and carnitas. But if you're a seafood lover, the Grilled Fish and Lobster tacos are available, albeit not at the near Monday deal ($3 and $5, respectively). Malo, as much as people loved to hate it in its early days, has quickly become a Silver Lake mainstay, especially with their own mixologist on staff creating an excellent cocktail list.

those tacos sound delicious! do they ONLY serve them on monday nights, or do they have them all the time, just at a higher price? i need to get over there and try them out....asap.
They have them other nights too, just not at the $1 price.
Nooo! Dpn't blow up dollar taco nite! It's already hard enough to get a table...
i went there once and it was good. but i noticed when i was leaving that they hide their B status of cleanliness at the corner of the window, so you can't see it.
usually the grade of a restaurant doesn't bother me so much. but i do get suspicious when restaurants hide their grade so customers don't see it. it's only makes the place shady. :(
thanks!! good to know i can get those tacos any night of the week. i didn't see them on the online menu, so i was worried. mmmmmMMMMMmm.
Rachel - I don't think "hiding" the grade of the restaurant contributes to shady-ness. Only the grade itself. You're saying it really would be better if the place had the same B rating but instead of "hiding it", they posted it on all the tables and the walls with big highlighted underlines - "Hey everyone check it out, we're not as clean as most establishments in LA"
Those health department grades are such a joke, anyway.
Thanks for the recommendation, Zach! Can't wait to check this place out. I LOVE me some vegetarian Mexican food.
It's my opinion that eating at a place with a B or C is BETTER than at a place for a A.
Everyone wants an A so those who dont have it are trying MUCH HARDER to make sure they get one next time.
A place with an A could be resting on its laurels.
Not sure that logic makes sense.
Same Logic: Let's hire the kid with the 2.4 GPA, not the 4.0 (perfect) GPA, because the 2.4 will try harder next time to impress and the 4.0 probably is going to slack off now that he has achieved so well?
Same Logic: Let's vote for the Republican Party, because they did such a shitty job for 8 years, they are more motivated now to do better, whereas the other party isn't as motivated because they didn't screw up the country.
