You mean to the number 1 defensive team in the NBA, the selflessly playing team whose entire team is able to score without having 1 player (Kobe "let me cum on your face, that's my thing" Bryant) be the key person for the entire game.
It's time to trade Kobe - yes, he is an exceptionally talented player - but we don't need a selfish player - we need a team player. Bring in someone like KG who can get the team to actually CONTRIBUTE to the game.
I haven't seen anybody raped like this in the finals since...Katelyn Faber vs. Kobe in CO.
What? Too soon?

eh, more like boo baby

As a Laker fan, I too haven't felt as disgusted as I am right now.
As an NBA fan, the Celtics deserve every moment of what's going on right now. Beating out 2 teams in 7 games, having one of the best fans in the league (c'mon L.A., buying $64,000 courtside seats doesn't do justice) AND having 3 unselfishly-talented players just shows how much they DO WANT IT MORE, and they just got it. Kudos Boston.

They played like they didn't even give a fuck. They were so far away the other team when they were playing and just fumbling so much. So frustrating. And all those fake out injuries from the Celtics will come back to 'em. coughbitchescough
Eh, I still love my Lakers.
[ report this ]
No matter what, I love L.A. And always will.
Watch out for the Lakers next year.
And oh yeah, at least we can pronounce the letter "r" and live where everyone else wants to be.
BORN IN L.A.
RAISED IN L.A.
WENT TO COLLEGE IN L.A.
WORK FOR THE CITY OF L.A.
No one can take away my pride.

Haha. I'm not a fan of either teams, so I can say with absolutely no bias that: That game was an embarrassing joke for the Lakers.

We have the worst home court crowd EVAR!

As Kobe said, 'if at the beginning of the year you'd say we are two games away from winning the championship.... yeah, we'll take that'
Next year. Celtics, I hope you die in a fire.
[ report this ]
Ok so yeah - that really effin sucked. But let's not forget this was the season that wasn't supposed to happen. The fact that the Lakers even made it this far is laudable.
Granted, this is cold comfort. But we'll be back. With a real center (sorry Pau).

At least I don't have to see Laker flags for the rest of the summer...

7-22 from the floor when it counted?? I never saw jordan do that. MVP! MVP!
Please...

Paulina played like a little girl. (no offense) He got man handled the entire series. Actually he got manhandled in the San Antonio series as well. On a positive note, The Lakers are a young team and I have no doubt that they will be back to the finals next year. Hopefully against the Celtics.

The lakers got spanked. End of story.
[ report this ]
keep your head up la, unless cleveland builds around lebron, i wouldn't be surprised to see these two teams right back in the finals a year from now, but with bynum solidifying things down low.
and to all the staples season ticket holders in the lower bowl who flipped their tickets, i hope it was worth it.

Rarely do you see justice in professional sports.
The Lakers were a selfish team dominated by a player that his teammates thoroughly despised.
The Celtics found a way to sublimate many huge egos and achieve something truly special.
Bad guys never really deserve to win a championship and anyone who thinks Kobe Bryant is anything other than a truly rotten human being is delusional (other than Lamar, his teammates agree)
Let's hope the Lakers take a long view and cut out this permanent cancer.
Kobe Bryant is the Alex Rodriguez of baseball--a perennial superstar who is, at heart, a guaranteed loser.

Sorry Tate, had to use the 'report this' button for your stupid ass comment.

My roommate is from Boston and a Celtics fan.
I'm never going to hear the end of this.
:(

"Justice"? Yeah, right.
The Celtics pulled off the biggest free-agent moves in the off-season and were the team to beat all year. Danny Ainge assembled half an allstar team as a starting line-up. The Lakers made the most successful trade during the regular season and surprised everyone to win the west.
It doesn't have anything to do with "bad guys" or Kobe being "despised" by his teammates (which is why D.Fish took a massive pay cut to play with Lakers). It's about Celtic defense overwhelming Laker offense.
But there is some karma at work. Kobe is tight with KG and Pierce. KG might have come to the Lakers in the off-season but with Kobe's trade demands at the end of last season and poor relations with management, KG went to Boston instead. Pau's a good player. KG is a great player.

Jimmy -- is there a podcast of this post anywhere?
We never thought the Lakers would be in the finals before Pau. Lakers in '08... +Bynum and -some of the lazier fux.

As a Laker fan for over 20 years, not many losses have hurt as badly as this one. But, when the pain wears off, this will be a season any real Laker fan remembers fondly. We have a great group of players who like each other -- including Kobe -- and who will grow into a championship team. Maybe next year, maybe the year after, and maybe with a b-level personnel change here or there, these guys will give us a parade. I, for one, am looking forward to it.

now please put those inane flags away
[ report this ]
hey, this is laist! we dont' use words like 'inane' here.

Must've been real quiet at Tina's Tavern tonight. It's too bad those guys cheering and waving Laker flags as they drove around town didn't even help any. Ha. Fucking sports.

it was just sad how the lakers went down.
but hey, in sports, there is always a next season.

I like how Garnet was Claiming CHICAGO! after they won. Yeah, he really cares about Boston's legacy alright. Whatever, we still have a 3-peat beeyotches.
[ report this ]
trade lamar for josh smith.
sign james posey.
add bynum.
BAM!
or sign ron artest, kobe and him get along quite well.
besides minnesota wouldve gotten a better deal of odom/bynum for KG but...you know how that works
[ report this ]
James Posey and Ron Artest are two of the dirtiest players in the league. Phil would have none of that.
And yeah, sounds like Garnett will NOT be quitting anytime before bringing a championship to his hometown of Chicago.
[ report this ]
Lakers fans, as much as this hurts, remember:
- Boston was the better team
- The Lakers had a miracle season
- They are still the best team in the West
- They are 1 or 2 players away from beating Boston next year. One of those players is already on the team (Bynum).
- We are super young, and when Ariza and Farmar have another year under their belts, this team is going to contend for a long time.
That was a drubbing. A pitiful excuse for a finals performance. But most of these guys, especially Kobe, are winners and it's going to motivate them all off-season and all year.
[ report this ]
I agree with Andy about Posey and Artest. I really hate Posey. Dirty bastard.
[ report this ]
you all just hate posey b/c of the finals. im sure if he jumped on the wagon and you saw him play you would forget about everything.
