Extra, Extra: Waiting on the Rain
- Rain, rain, don't go away, don't come again another day! Wet weather is on its way.
- And not a moment too soon for some portions of the city. A lack of water in the Valley might slow growth: "West San Fernando Valley Councilman Dennis Zine said he called for the mandatory water conservation in new development after Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's plea for voluntary water saving was largely ignored by Angelenos."
- You know all that money you spent on airfares this holiday season? Well -- now you can hate yourself it, because airlines are releasing their post-holiday reduced fares.
- A hospital in Thousand Oaks witnessed a dangerous outbreak of a rare stomach virus, which "forced Los Robles Hospital & Medical Center facility to close to new patients and visitors." Hope it's not the Rage virus!
- Whoa there, back up the truck! MetrobloggingLA observed & documented a scary-looking truck accident on Highland near the Hollywood Bowl earlier today.
- Last week's wind storms knocked one of Hollywood's oldest trees almost right on top of one of Hollywood's oldest landmarks, the original Hollywoodland Realty office in Beachwood Canyon.
- Are we really supposed to believe that La Lohan *just* fell off the wagon on New Year's Eve? Guess so. Anyway, check her out shotgunning some champagne! Nice technique, girlfriend!
- Is this supposed to make me feel guilty about not answering calls from the UCLA Alumni Association? Cal State Fullerton received a $30 million gift from an alum, the money "will go to the College of Business and Economics to create endowed chairs for the college, provide scholarships, help in retention and recruitment of faculty and generate innovative programs."
