Spice Up Your Life Redux

The newly reunited Spice Girls hit the stage at the Staples Center for two sold out nights this past Wednesday and Friday. Today's LA Times review says the girls are "thinner and more plastic than ever" and that "the show was even more elaborate and pyro- technic than the British pop group's 1998 L.A. debut at the Forum." However, the article goes on to say that the spectacle "played more like a Broadway production surveying their career, a clockwork affair devoid of spontaneity or genuine emotion" and "although the audience sang heartily along, the songs were rather beside the point."

Err, um, "Girl Power" anyone? Did we really need the Brit pop divas to come back together? Take a look at this video of their ten-year old hit "Spice Up Your Life" from Wednesday's Staples Center show and decide for yourself if it holds up.

I'm actually glad they got back together.

Beside the facts that their new video makes no sense in relation to the song, that they're kinda too old to be doing this, and that I still think Post is some sort or alien/vombie robot with an incredibly hot(and maybe not that book smart) husband (...not that I'm bitter or envious), the group brought back a nice touch of nostalgia.

Their kids may be scared or ashamed when they get older, but they don't look too bad. No complaints here. Girl Power forever!!!!

You can't blame them for that. And it helps to think of other motives. Dispite the previously mentioned robot, I wonder how many of them are seriously in need of money. I'm betting that loot didn't last THAT long.

I admit it, I'm a fan. But I didn't go to the show, thanks for posting this clip Linds!
