- The IRS investigation at the All Saints Episcopal Church over a 2004 "anti-war sermon" has been dropped, the church announced today at a press conference. The church is now asking for an apology and some clarification.
- Remember all those pot-house busts in the Inland Empire? It appears that all these drug homes in high-end areas are funded and employed by gangs from China.
- Aren't hospitals always in trouble? "Nearly two dozen private hospitals in Los Angeles and Orange counties are in danger of bankruptcy or closure..."
- The Los Angeles Fire Department is reporting a civilian death at a house fire earlier this morning in the Century Cove neighborhood of South LA.
- Nigisti Tesfai, who founded the African Community Resource Center, a charity that resettles African refugees here in Los Angeles, has been charged with embezzling more than $1 million from the organization.
- Tony Award-winning actress known for her role as Esmeralda on Bewitched, Alice Glostley, passed away on Friday in Studio City. She was 81 years old. Mime legend Marcel Marceau also passed yesterday at 84.
