- Lieutenant De La Torre at the LAPD is leaving his post in media relations as "blog master" for a new position -- Department Spokesperson. He says, "Taking my place as the caretaker of the LAPD Blog is Lt. Mora, who is bringing fresh new ideas and whom I have the most confidence will keep the blog going."

- The new downtown Ralphs is testing out how a 2 a.m. closing is working instead of a midnight shut down. Apparently it's working, which makes sense -- after all, many Ralphs in the less-populated Valley stay open 24 hours.
